The Ohio County Circuit Clerk’s office in Wheeling, WV has selected COMPUCOM, Inc of Pittsburgh, PA to provide scanning services for the conversion of Court Order records and corresponding Index Books to digital format.
This process will provide Brenda L. Miller, Circuit Clerk, and her staff with PC based availability of the court records, eliminate difficult look-ups in heavy books and secure the information on a computer based system. The conversion will be performed without interruption to the daily operations of the Clerk’s office.
Denny Mader of COMPUCOM, Inc. worked with the Clerk Miller and her staff in the Ohio County Circuit Clerk’s office to develop the process involved in the document conversion. According to Mr. Mader, the benefits also include modernization of existing information and increased productivity. Ultimately the end users of the Clerk’s office are the primary beneficiary since their inquiries will be handled in an accurate and time effective manner.
The digitalization process, which will include archival microfilm, is to begin immediately with the conclusion of the initial conversion slated to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2007. Circuit Clerk Miller states that she looks forward to once again working with COMPUCOM, Inc. She previously purchased a microfilm reader-printer from them and is very happy with their product and service.
